Care & Maintenance Guide

Care & Maintenance Guide

At Karma Outdoor Furniture, we want your furniture to look beautiful and last for years. Follow these simple care and maintenance tips to keep your pieces in top condition.

🪵 Teak Wood Furniture

  • Clean with a mild soap solution and a soft brush, then rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Allow to dry completely before use or storage.
  • Apply teak oil once or twice a year to maintain its rich color and prevent drying.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or pressure washers, as these can damage the wood grain.
  • If left untreated, teak will naturally weather to a silver-grey patina — this is normal and does not affect durability.

🪑 Powder-Coated Aluminum Furniture

  • Wipe down regularly with a damp cloth and mild detergent to remove dust and dirt.
  • Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.
  • Inspect annually for any chips or scratches in the coating; touch up with matching paint to prevent rust.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners or steel wool, which can scratch the coating.

🧺 PP/PE Wicker

  • Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush or cloth.
  • Rinse well and allow to air dry.
  • For stubborn stains, use a diluted bleach solution (1 part bleach to 10 parts water), then rinse thoroughly.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat sources like open flames or grills.

☂️ Cushions & Fabric

  • Remove cushion covers and machine wash on a gentle cycle with mild detergent when possible.
  • For non-removable covers, spot clean with a mild soap solution and rinse well.
  • Allow cushions to air dry completely before replacing them on the furniture.
  • Store cushions indoors or in a weatherproof storage box during heavy rain or winter months.

🗄️ Storage Tips

  • Use furniture covers during extended periods of non-use or harsh weather to protect your pieces.
  • Store cushions and fabric accessories indoors during winter or rainy seasons.
  • Stack chairs and fold tables where possible to save space during storage.

🔧 General Maintenance Tips

  • Check all bolts, screws, and joints periodically and tighten as needed.
  • Lubricate moving parts (like recliner mechanisms or folding joints) with a silicone-based lubricant annually.
  • Keep furniture away from direct contact with fertilizers or pool chemicals, which can cause discoloration or corrosion.
